Erlanger, Kentucky – Patricia J. “Patty” Suedkamp, age 80, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Coldspring Transitional Care Center. Patty was a 1963 graduate of Holy Cross High School, dedicating her life to community service with unparalleled compassion and pride. For over 40 years, she played a vital role in the Erlanger/Elsmere community through numerous acts of service and leadership. Patty was a pioneer as the first secretary of both the Erlanger Fire Department and the Airport Fire Department, significantly contributing to airport field maintenance and serving over 11 years with the Erlanger Rescue Squad. She served Erlanger City Council for 25 years, notably as Vice Mayor, with a special dedication to the annual “Shop with a Cop” program benefiting local children.

Deeply immersed in community initiatives, Patty chaired the Erlanger Renaissance Committee, led the Friendship Garden, provided CPR instruction, supported children with special needs in the Erlanger/Elsmere School System, and actively participated in Erlanger Police Department and Volunteers in Police Service. Despite her extensive public service, Patty found joy in social gatherings and appreciated a good bourbon, but her greatest delight came from being with family. Adoring her six grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Mimi” and cherished by her neighborhood children as “Aunt Patty.”

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bruce” Suedkamp, and parents, Bud and Marian Winston, Patty is survived by her children: Robert “Jason” (Heather) Suedkamp, Erik (Lisa) Suedkamp, and Jamie (James) Hils; grandchildren: Brinley, Saylor, Noble, Nash, Camden, and Teagan; sisters: Sr. Colleen Winton OSB, Pamela Winston, and Lisa (Rob) Hughes; nieces: Kristin Tewes and Allison Hughes.

A memorial visitation to commemorate Patty’s life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger. Memorial contributions are suggested to Fairhaven Rescue Mission, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Ronald McDonald House Charities.
