Northern Kentucky University Norse men’s golf finished its spring season at the Horizon League Championships, which took place from Saturday to Monday at Mission Inn in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The team ended the tournament in tenth place, recording a combined score of 52-over par with rounds of 301, 310, and 305.
The result concludes the team’s efforts for the spring campaign. Finishing in tenth highlights challenges faced by the Norse during this competition.
Zack Beard led Northern Kentucky individually by finishing five-over for the championship and tying for eleventh place. Beard’s scores were 71, 76, and 74 on the par-72 course. His first-round score of 71 was tied for seventh-best among all competitors that day. Beard recorded twelve birdies over three rounds, including six in his final round.
Michael Long was next among NKU scorers with rounds of 78, 78, and 79 to finish nineteenth overall at nineteen-over par with four birdies total. Isaac Moody placed forty-third after opening with a strong round of seventy-two but finished twenty-one over par overall. Micah Bertram came in forty-fourth after scoring eighty-two, seventy-three, and eighty-four across his three rounds to finish twenty-three over par.
Caleb Eaglin contributed an opening round of eighty followed by a sub-seventy-one score while Brady Holmes shot an eighty-three in round two as part of NKU’s group effort.
The conclusion of this event marks the end of Northern Kentucky’s spring schedule as they look ahead to future competitions.
