Northern Kentucky University Norse baseball secured a series victory over Oakland with a 10-0 win on April 25 at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
The result marks the second consecutive run-rule victory for Northern Kentucky against Oakland, following a high-scoring game the previous day. The Norse improved their record to 19-22 overall and 8-9 in Horizon League play, while Oakland fell to 10-28 and 5-12 in conference games.
Pitchers EJ Miramontes and Elijah Green combined for seven scoreless innings. Miramontes started and allowed just one hit and one walk over four innings, earning his third win of the season. Green pitched three relief innings, giving up four hits with two strikeouts to secure his first career save.
Offensively, Marcus Harrison opened scoring with a three-run home run in the first inning. Ethan Thomas, Jake Paulick, and Landon Springmeyer also homered as part of Northern Kentucky’s four home runs during the game. Paulick reached base all four times he batted, recording two hits—including a homer—and walking twice. Harrison contributed three runs batted in (RBI) and scored twice.
Other notable performances included Thomas going two-for-four with a solo home run; Springmeyer hitting a two-run homer; and Josh Williams adding an RBI double among his two hits.
Northern Kentucky will conclude its series against Oakland at home on Sunday at noon.
