Florence, Kentucky – Mable Helton, formerly Melton, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2026, in Florence, Kentucky. Born on October 7, 1935, in Burkesville, Kentucky, Mable’s life was characterized by kindness, humility, and a steadfast faith that guided her throughout her journey.
As the daughter of Elza and Rhoda Melton, Mable grew up rooted in a strong Methodist faith alongside her sister. Music and church held a special place in her heart, fostering the values that shaped her life.
Mable had a range of interests, including collecting dolls and nurturing her garden, where she found solace among the flowers. She took pleasure in attending her children and grandchildren’s sports and music events and enjoyed browsing through yard sales and flea markets.
Her family was the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Rick) Gilland, Tony (Joni) Helton, and Jenny Aylor. Her grandchildren Josh, Molly (Arrick), Katie (Eric), Ryle (Daniella), Bryssa, Lauryn, Emily, Nick, and great-grandchildren Chandler (Skylar), Zoe, Oliver, Graham, Bryson, Keegan, Kenzie, Brynlee, Jameson, and Sadie Belle. Mable cherished the close bond she shared with her family friend Jennifer Fletcher and left a lasting impact on numerous family members and friends.
Mable was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Helton, her parents Elza and Rhoda Melton, and her son-in-law Andy Aylor.
A visitation will be held on May 19, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky. On May 20, 2026, burial ceremonies will commence at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Kentucky.
Mable Helton leaves a legacy of kindness, faith, and strength that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In celebrating her life, we honor her love, devoted spirit, and abiding faith.
