Thomas Massie, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, has recently shared his legislative proposals and achievements on social media. Massie, who succeeded Geoff Davis in Congress, continues to advocate for fiscal conservatism and transparency in government.
On June 6, 2025, Massie proposed a new fiscal plan with a tweet stating: “Massie plan: Throw the big beautiful bill in the trash. Start over… skinny! Extend 2017 tax cuts End Green New Deal cold turkey No bloat for military industrial complex No SALT No pork Realistic border funding Serious Medicaid reform $1 spending cuts for $1 new tax cuts”. This proposal emphasizes cutting government spending while extending tax cuts and eliminating what he considers unnecessary expenditures.
Later that day, Massie announced the introduction of HR 3795 via another tweet: “I just introduced HR 3795, the Gold Reserve Transparency Act of 2025, to audit U.S. gold reserves. In February, President Trump said he wanted to go to Fort Knox to ‘make sure the gold is there.’ This bill provides the full disclosure President Trump seeks.” The legislation aims to ensure transparency regarding U.S. gold reserves by auditing them.
Additionally, on June 6th, Massie shared his recognition by a senior citizens’ advocacy group with a tweet: “Yesterday, I received a Guardian of Seniors’ Rights Award from @60PlusAssoc. The award is given to elected officials ‘who have demonstrated their commitment to protecting the rights of our precious American senior citizens.’ Thank you, @60PlusAssoc.” This award acknowledges his efforts in advocating for senior citizens’ rights.
Thomas Massie’s background includes serving as Lewis County Judge Executive and holding a degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
