Burlington, KY – Larry Dale Harper, known for his loving personality and dedication, peacefully departed this world on June 16, 2025. Larry was a rock of support for his family, admired for his warm heart and unwavering commitment to those around him.
Larry, born to Lawrence and Pauline Harper, was a devoted patriarch and professional. Throughout nearly 50 years, he dedicated himself to a career as a senior programmer/analyst. His service in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, reflected his sense of duty and honor.
A loyal follower of Chicago sports, Larry passionately cheered on the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. His athletic spirit shone through as he played baseball and even tried out for the Cincinnati Reds. Larry embraced adventure, loving trips to Disney World and enjoying sci-fi shows like Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Star Trek.
Larry leaves his wife of 58 years, Shirley Jean, and an enduring legacy of love through his children: Kevin, Stephanie, Todd, David, and Jeff. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever cherish memories of “Ditchard,” “Songbird,” “Emmy Lou,” “Betty Crocker,” “Chicken Head,” and “Benja-man.”
Visitation will be held on June 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, with a memorial service following at Christ’s Chapel in Erlanger, KY.
In memory of his dedicated service and family-centered heart, donations can be made to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
