Kathryn “Diane” Fanning, aged 74, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born on September 21, 1951, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Granville Bruce Cason and Kathryn Sue Cason (Knox).

Diane was a devoted wife to her husband of 45 years, Thomas (Tom) Fanning, and a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. She had a passion for art and cooking, showcasing her talents throughout her life. After a fulfilling career in the food service industry, she retired as a chef from the cafeteria at Cengage in Independence, Kentucky. Diane had a deep love for dogs and cherished the companionship of the pets she and Tom welcomed into their lives over the years.

Known for her musical appreciation, sharp wit, and sense of humor, Diane brought joy to those around her with her lively spirit. She was a devoted follower of Christ and supported the Christian Broadcasting Network as a way to spread the message of faith to others.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Granville Bruce Cason and Kathryn Sue Cason, and her brothers, Granville Cason Jr., and Joseph A Cason.

She is survived by her loving husband Tom; siblings Suzanne Patterson, Gregory (Cheryl) Cason, Donald (Theresa) Cason, and Jacqueline (Ronald) Akin; sister-in-law Terri Cason, and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Kathryn “Diane” Fanning will be held at Hebron Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations towards funeral expenses can be made to Linnemann Funeral Homes, Erlanger, Kentucky.
