Joe Dean Woods, 86, of Petersburg, KY, passed away on September 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. Known for his deep love for the outdoors, Joe found solace and joy in nature while hunting, tending to his garden, and riding his tractor. He will be remembered for his quick wit, passion for animals and gardening, and the care he showed to his family. Joe’s quiet strength and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Preceded in death by his wife Shirley, son-in-law Jim Harden, extended children Warren and Willie Koching, extended grandchild Tammy Koching, parents Thomas and Nellie Mae (Walls), and brothers Bobby and Donnie, Joe is survived by his children Carenia Harden, Joe Woods Jr., Rodney Woods, Annette Woods (Temmy Carpenter), Jeremy Woods, and Kevin Woods. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and his dear friend Joann Ferguson.

Visitation for Joe will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., and interment at Petersburg Cemetery. A nature enthusiast, Joe’s memory will be cherished by all who shared his love for the outdoors.
