Joanne C. Overman (nee, Holtman), aged 85 of Ft. Thomas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones in the St. Elizabeth ICU, Ft. Thomas.
Born on August 22, 1940, to Augustus and Bernadette Holtman, Joanne was a retired brokerage assistant with Prudential Bache Securities. In her younger years, she found joy in golfing and bowling, often spending days at AJ Jolly golf course. A passionate fan of UK and XU basketball, she loved watching every game she could. As a crossword enthusiast, she would solve puzzles for hours, taking breaks to treat neighbor dogs on their daily walks, deeply missing having a dog of her own. Recently, she relished her time at the Barrington of Ft. Thomas, attending bingo, happy hours, and bonding with new friends.
Joanne is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul D Overman; her sister, Carol Hartley; brother, Dennis Holtman; and sister-in-law, Mary Sue Rice.
She is survived by her loving family, including daughter Cheryl (Jack) McElveen; granddaughters Megan (Nick) Bibbins and Allison (Andy) Franzen; and great-grandchildren Jax and Blakely Bibbins, and Austyn and Ayden Franzen; as well as sister-in-law Nancy Overman; grand dog Bailey; and three nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17th at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Joanne will be laid to rest at St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SAAP (Stray Animal Adoption Program) P.O. Box 72040, Newport, KY 41072, or to St. Elizabeth Foundation, with the designation for Ft. Thomas Cancer Center.
