Homer James Walters, aged 74, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born on October 15, 1951, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, to the late Raymond and Lodelia (West) Walters.
Homer was the devoted husband of Betty Ruth (Eich) Walters, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Survived by his children, Lynda (Dan) Brothers, Tiffany (Jay) Bencale, Thomas (Daphne) Walters, and Eddie Mitchell, whom he welcomed into his home and heart as family. A proud grandfather to Elizabeth (Bryson) Waller, Tara, Hayley, Aaron, Kayla, and Alayna Brothers, Brandon and Emma Bencale, and Phoenix Walters, and a cherished great-grandfather to Kadence. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert, Paul, Brenda, and Janet.
Preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Walters. He was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and integrity. Homer’s love for the outdoors, including camping, fishing, hunting, and the mountains, brought him peace in nature.
A man of faith, Homer was a devoted member of Florence Baptist Temple. Visitation at Florence Baptist Temple will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. Burial will take place at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Demossville, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Homer’s name to Florence Baptist Temple.
