Northern Kentucky University announced on April 30 that four seniors from the Norse softball team have received Horizon League All-Academic honors. Brielle DiMemmo, Alicia Flores, and Jena Rhoads were named to the All-Academic team, while Victoria Flores earned an honorable mention.
These awards highlight the academic and athletic achievements of student-athletes in the Horizon League. The recognition reflects both their performance on the field and their dedication in the classroom.
“Our program is beyond proud of Alicia, Brielle, Jena, and Victoria,” said Norse head coach Morgan Gerak. “This team takes great pride in academic achievement, and their commitment to academics sets the standard in our program for what it looks like to compete at an elite level on the field and in the classroom.”
Alicia Flores was honored for her third time after previous selections in 2023 and 2025. She has pitched 65 innings this season with an 8-6 record and a 5.49 ERA, ranking among league leaders in several pitching categories. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, she is a five-time President’s Honors List recipient currently pursuing her MBA after earning a bachelor’s degree last spring.
Jena Rhoads earned back-to-back All-Academic honors as well as maintaining strong performance as NKU’s starting center fielder with a .338 batting average this season. She is set to graduate with a nursing degree after six President’s Honor’s List selections.
Brielle DiMemmo received her first career All-Academic honor during a standout season as starting first baseman, leading NKU hitters by OPS (.943) along with team highs in triples (five), home runs (six), RBI (29), total bases (77), and slugging percentage (.588). She will graduate this spring with a bachelor’s degree in General Business.
Victoria Flores was recognized as honorable mention for her defensive contributions in left field and career-high statistics across several categories during her senior year. Like Alicia Flores, she is currently earning her MBA after graduating last spring.
Northern Kentucky concludes its regular season this weekend before heading into next week’s Horizon League Championship.
