Crestview Hills – Emmett Kyle Hammond, Jr., a distinguished pharmacist and cherished patriarch, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at Madonna Manor in Crestview Hills, surrounded by his family. He was 85.

Hammond, born on March 26, 1940, in Hampton, Virginia, had a long and storied career as Chief Pharmacist at various hospitals, culminating in his retirement from the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center after more than 25 years of service. Known for his unwavering commitment to healthcare, Hammond was also a proud Army veteran and a respected leader in his field.

A family man at heart, Hammond found joy in spending time with loved ones, enjoying tennis, inspiring fellow players, and traveling to places like Branson, Gatlinburg, and Hilton Head. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his profession, and his community.

Hammond is survived by his son, Keith Hammond, and daughter, Elizabeth O’Connell, along with cherished grandchildren, a sister, a sister-in-law, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sena Hammond, and his parents, Emmett Kyle Hammond, Sr., and Hazel Taylor Hammond.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, on Monday, September 8, 2025. Burial with military honors will occur at a later date.

Emmett Kyle Hammond, Jr.’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew him. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Erlanger Baptist Church.
