Emily Sue Hutchison, 91, of Staunton, Virginia, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Legacy at North Augusta in Staunton. Born on June 11, 1934, in Packard, KY, to W.D. Stott and Mae Siler Stott, Emily was a dedicated teacher at Whites Tower Elementary School for over 40 years before retirement.
Fondly known as Sue, she had a passion for teaching, and her eyes would light up when sharing stories from her classroom. In her leisure time, Sue enjoyed quilting, sewing, and painting crafts. She is survived by her sister, Lou Ann Emerson of Kingsport, TN, and her nieces, nephews, and other cherished loved ones.
Preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hutchison, Sue will be remembered for her kindness and love for teaching. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
