Covington, KY – Edward Erik Stauffer, 63, known affectionately as Erik, peacefully passed away on June 4, 2025. Born on September 16, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the cherished son of the late Edward and Frances Stauffer.
Erik, a Dickinson College graduate, was a man of culture, intellect, and warmth—a true Renaissance spirit. His lifelong passion for literature, classical music, and the arts, particularly opera, set him apart. A home filled with books revealed his love for engaging in discussions about history, theater, and poetry.
Starting his career at Pan Am and retiring from Delta Air Lines, Erik’s work spanned the globe. However, it was in the Wallace Woods neighborhood of Covington, KY, where he found his place, surrounded by friends, creativity, and community.
A fervent supporter of the performing arts, a skilled cook, and a dedicated animal lover, especially to cats, Erik found solace in the natural world, nurturing thriving plants in his home and finding joy in gardens, trees, and the seasons.
Erik embraced life with kindness, humor, and honesty, leaving a mark as a loyal friend and a thoughtful neighbor, who lived each day with intention.
He is survived by a broad network of friends turned family, who will honor his memory with love and appreciation.
