Lexington, Kentucky – Dorothy M. Wolfinbarger, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026. Born on November 22, 1934, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Ebb Russ and Rosie Lamb Russ, Dorothy was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her love and kindness.
Predeceased by her parents, daughter Vickie Beers, husband Virgil Wolfinbarger, and sister Mary Susan, Dorothy is survived by her children Pat Held (Mike), David Wolfinbarger (Erica), Jeff Wolfinbarger (Carmen), and Tom Wolfinbarger, along with her sister Charlotte Rodriguez.
Her memory will be cherished by her numerous grandchildren, including Becky Bingham, Tony Wolfinbarger (Amanda), Tommy Wolfinbarger, Craig Held, Chris Held, Kandy Claycomb (Phil), Sandy Sidwell (Dave), Michael Beers (Kurstin), Megan Von der Porten (David), Jeffrey Wolfinbarger (Cassie), Travis Wolfinbarger (Kendra), Zack Wolfinbarger, and Sarah Wolfinbarger. Dorothy was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A dedicated member of Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church, Dorothy’s love for singing and family gatherings exemplified her caring nature. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation and funeral services for Dorothy will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Friday, May 15th, with burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial trees or flowers can be ordered through the family’s flower store to honor Dorothy M. Wolfinbarger’s memory and the impact she had on those around her.
