Burlington, KY – Dominick William Cordelli, aged 86, passed away on June 12, 2025, in Burlington, Kentucky. Dominick, also known as Dom, was born on March 24, 1939, in White Plains, New York. His life journey took him from serving in the Marine Corps to a fulfilling career in aviation, marking him as a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated community member.

Joining the Marine Corps in 1958, Dom served for six years, stationed in North Carolina and Japan, where he volunteered at an orphanage in Okinawa near the base. After his service, he met his beloved “Lady” on a blind date in Pensacola, Florida, and tied the knot with Mildred Baldwin on April 20, 1963. Throughout his career with Pan American Airlines, Dom worked his way up to Professional Flight Engineer, later moving his family to Amman, Jordan, to assist in the establishment of a pilot training program for Alia, a Jordanian airline.

Devoted to teaching, Dom then transitioned his career to DHL Airways training department, moving to Florence, Kentucky, in 1986, where he remained until his retirement in 2006. A pillar in his community, Dom dedicated his retirement to church service, involvement with the Marine Corps League of Northern Kentucky, and mentoring young men in the Northern Kentucky Young Marines.

Dominick is survived by his loving wife, Mildred; daughters, Maria, Kathy (Stephen), Paula, Sharon (Charles); grandchildren, Travis, Adam, Caitlin, Nicholas, Cory, Samantha, Will; and his three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Nazarene and Regina Cordelli, and his brother, Stephen.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. A visitation will be held at Linnemann’s Funeral Home in Burlington, Kentucky on June 19, 2025, followed by a memorial service. Interment will take place on June 20, 2025, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky.

Dominick’s unwavering dedication to his family, faith, military service, and flying will forever be cherished and remembered by those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
