Burlington, KY – Dolores A. Kleier, 92, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love that touched all who knew her.

Born in Covington, KY, Dolores was a cherished daughter of Joseph and Anna Kunkel, growing up in a large, close-knit family of eleven siblings. Known for her generous spirit and strong work ethic, Dolores devoted nearly 40 years to a career in nursing, starting at St. Elizabeth Hospital and later joining Dr. Kenneth E. Lanter’s office. Following his retirement, she continued her service at the VA Hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY until her retirement.

An active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Dolores participated in various church ministries and community organizations. She found joy in gardening and carried on the tradition of “Anna’s Garden,” spreading Xenia flowers far and wide in memory of her mother. Dolores was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and the Women’s Auxiliary, embodying a life of service and community involvement.

Known fondly as “Aunt Dolores,” she acted as a loving figure to her many nieces and nephews, providing steadfast support and care. She was a dedicated mother to her sons, Michael and Mark, supporting them in all their endeavors, especially in their 4-H activities.

Dolores enjoyed camping, fishing, square dancing, and spending time with loved ones, delighting in the simple joys of life. Her love for family extended to all, and she treasured visits from her grandchildren and nieces as a source of great happiness.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ned George Kleier, and several siblings, Dolores is survived by her sons, Michael and Mark; brother-in-law, Paul Meyer; sister, Aileen Sherman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Monday, June 16, 2025, with a visitation at 11:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Burlington IOOF Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary School Tuition Assistance Program.
