Delbert “Pete” Lee Hamm, Jr., 72, of DeMossville, KY, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Born on January 13, 1953, in Covington, KY, Pete was the son of the late Delbert L. Hamm, Sr. and Ruth Hamm. Known for his dedication to hard work and a profound appreciation for life’s simple joys, Pete had an incredible talent for reviving engines and a deep passion for working on cars. His mechanical skills were matched by his love for fishing, rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals, and enjoying classic TV shows like “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “The Dukes of Hazzard.”

For 52 years, Pete shared a cherished marriage with his devoted wife, Mary Elizabeth Hamm, building a beautiful family legacy founded on unconditional love. He is survived by his children: Chris, Steven, Mary, Jenny, Tony, Andrew, Bonny, Julie, Tina, Lindsey, and Maggie. Pete’s 36 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren brought him immense joy and pride, reflecting the love and happiness he nurtured within the family.

Remembered for his compassion, warm smile, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones, Pete’s absence will be keenly felt. His stories, laughter, and welcoming presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honoring Pete’s memory, let us carry forward his love for family, his enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures, and his infectious spirit. Whether tinkering with machinery, relishing a quiet fishing session, or sharing quality time with family, let his essence live on through these moments. And perhaps, every now and then, exclaim a hearty “Yabba Dabba Doo!” in tribute to his enduring spirit.

A private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Pete by spending cherished moments with loved ones, casting a line at a favored fishing spot, or watching a Bengals game in remembrance of him.

To pay tribute to Delbert “Pete,” planting a memorial tree in his honor offers an enduring way to commemorate his life and legacy.
