Covington, Kentucky has appointed Dan Wohler as its new Communications Manager. Wohler’s early exposure to storytelling and news through his parents in Boston shaped his understanding of the importance of being well-informed. He stated, “Thinking back to when I was a kid – seeing how my parents were captivated by the evening news – being informed was really important growing up in our household.”

Wohler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Communications from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. His professional background includes roles as a news producer at CNY Central in Syracuse, New York, and WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. Most recently, he served as Communications Administrator for Middletown City School District.

In his new role, Wohler aims to highlight Covington’s developments and keep residents informed. “I’m excited about the trajectory of the city – I think it’s only ‘up,’” he remarked.

Wohler appreciates Covington’s unique character, describing it as having “a mix of shops, restaurants, and bars,” along with a rich history. Outside work, he enjoys cooking and exploring local eateries with his fiancée Shelby.

Though not originally from the area, Wohler feels at home in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky with Shelby and their pet dog Kitty. He expressed a desire to foster community engagement through effective communication: “I want to do anything I can to help spread the word about this community.”
