Covington, Ky. – Covington Parks & Recreation is preparing to open its swim facilities this Saturday, offering a program aimed at children in the area. The official opening day will feature events at Randolph Pool located at 8th and Greenup Streets, and the Bill Cappel Splash Pad situated at 43rd Street and Decoursey Avenue. Each location will host games and offer treats.

Covington residents can obtain free pool passes, though these passes must be renewed annually. Residents need to present identification proving their residency in Covington to receive a pass.

“It’s going to be another exciting season with lots of fun activities,” said Greg Stacy, Covington Parks & Recreation Manager.

On Saturday, activities will begin at Randolph Pool from noon until 2 p.m., followed by events at Bill Cappel Splash Pad from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The facilities will remain open daily from June 7 through August 3, operating from noon to 6 p.m., depending on weather conditions.

In addition to swimming, children can participate in Cov-Tivities throughout the summer. These are scheduled activities that include games and arts or crafts sessions held between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The schedule for Cov-Tivities is as follows:

– Mondays: Bill Cappel Splash Pad
– Wednesdays: Randolph Pool
– Fridays: Alternating between Bill Cappel Splash Pad and Randolph Pool
