Covington plans major street resurfacing project across multiple neighborhoods

COVINGTON, Ky. – The City of Covington is set to repave more than a dozen streets as part of its 2025-2026 Resurfacing Project. The work is scheduled to begin next week and will cover nearly 60,000 square yards of new asphalt across 13 streets in 10 neighborhoods: Central Business District, Botany Hills, Monte Casino, Ritte’s East, Licking Riverside, Peaselburg, Eastside, Westside, Latonia Rosedale, and South Covington.

The streets included in the project are Madison Ave., Western Ave., Janes Ln., Joann Pl., Siffel Ct., Glenn Ave., Garrard St., Howell St., Wheeler St., Banklick St., 23rd St. West, 40th St., and Kidwell Ln.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to be patient during the paving process. Temporary parking restrictions will be enforced, and residents have been notified by mail.

Contracts for the resurfacing were approved at the City Commission’s Legislative Meeting on July 15, 2025. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Resurfacing Project will be carried out by Riegler Blacktop for $290,638. Eaton Asphalt will handle the remaining Capital Resurfacing Project for $470,715.20.
