Covington, Ky. – Amid the summer heat, Covington offers a variety of activities for residents and visitors.
On Friday, Covington Parks and Recreation will host a free Movie Night in the Park at Austinburg Park. The featured film is “Wings of Life,” which explores the world of butterflies and pollinators. The movie starts at dusk with popcorn available.
The Carnegie will open “The Color Purple” musical on Friday, running through July 6. Based on Alice Walker’s novel, it tells the story of Celie, an African American woman’s journey of self-discovery in the early 20th century.
Saturday brings the Art off Main – The Village Summer Art Fair to MainStrasse Village along the 6th Street Promenade, showcasing various vendors.
Sunday marks The Fieldhouse Inaugural Card & Memorabilia Show for sports card enthusiasts to buy, sell, or trade memorabilia.
Live music events include performances by Burning Caravan at Behringer-Crawford Museum and The Bluebirds Trio at Smoke Justis tonight. Various artists will perform throughout the weekend at venues like Galaxie, Madison Live, and Madison Theater.
Additional activities include a Sustainability & Gardening Session at Latonia Branch Library tonight and a Covington Farmers Market on Saturday morning.
