Covington highlights community events including festivals, markets, concerts, art shows this weekend

This weekend, Covington will host a variety of events for residents and visitors. Activities include food tours, art classes, live music, family programs, and seasonal festivals.

On Thursday, the Roebling Bridge Food & Culture Tour offers participants a walk across the historic bridge and dining at local restaurants. Creative opportunities are available at Purrfect Day Cat Café with tote bag decorating and at Creative House of Art & Design with kids’ art classes. The Kenton County Public Library’s Covington branch will hold a session on using databases to research local history and genealogy. Other Thursday events include wine tasting at Crafts & Vines, bingo games at Braxton Brewing Company and Galaxie Covington, karaoke, and the Field of Nightmares Haunted House at KY Fieldhouse.

Friday features storytime for young children at Creative House of Art & Design and an outdoor screening of “The Shining” by NightLight 513 at Covington Plaza. Live music can be found with the Mike Wade Trio at Juniper’s. Braxton Brewing Company hosts Party on the Patio, while Galaxie Covington holds a pajama-themed rave.

Saturday’s schedule includes the Covington Farmers Market on Washington Street and a volunteer tree planting event organized by the Urban Forestry Board in West Latonia. Linden Grove Cemetery will offer historical tours highlighting community founders and immigrants. ORSANCO is coordinating a riverbank cleanup from Clay Wade Bailey Bridge to the mouth of the Licking River.

Other Saturday events are Covington Sparks—an activity program for families—at Sixth District Elementary School; Mutter Gottes Neighborhood Annual Pumpkin Sale supporting neighborhood projects; FREADOM Fest celebrating banned books at Roebling Books & Coffee; Oktoberfest festivities at West Sixth Covington Haus; Cryptid Block Party on Pike Street featuring vendors and performances; fall drinkware crafting workshops at Kenton County Public Library; art classes with kittens at Purrfect Day Cat Café; Opera Fest with specialty drinks and live music at Braxton Brewing Company; rooftop DJ sessions hosted by Galaxie; and an electronic music night also presented by Galaxie.

Sunday includes Drag Brunch at Coppin’s in Hotel Covington as well as trivia night with prizes at West Sixth Covington Haus.
