Community events in Covington include music, art shows, markets, and family activities

This weekend, Covington will host a variety of community events including music, art, educational presentations, and family activities. The City’s Human Rights Commission is organizing a free Medicare presentation at the Kenton County Public Library’s Covington branch on Thursday evening.

Braxton Brewing Company will offer Music Bingo on its rooftop Thursday night. Galaxie Covington is hosting Disco Bingo and Karaoke later in the evening, with prizes and drink specials available.

On Friday, Braxton Brewing Company’s Party on the Patio begins at 5 p.m., while The Carnegie opens an art exhibition titled “All Four Seasons in Equal Measure,” curated by Monique Long and inspired by Thoreau’s Walden. Revival Vintage Spirits & Bottle Shop will feature whiskey tastings with 15 Starts Bourbon and North South Bakery. The Kenton County Public Library is also holding a Swiftie Engagement Party focused on Taylor Swift-themed games and activities.

Covington Parks & Recreation is screening “Wings of Life” outdoors at Austinburg Neighborhood Park Friday night. According to the city’s parks department, these types of movie nights are part of their ongoing efforts to encourage family-friendly outdoor gatherings (https://www.covingtonky.gov/parks-recreation).

Saturday features the Covington Farmers Market on Washington Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as a guided Neighborhood Tree Walk in South Covington led by City Forester Patrick Moore and Brandon George of UK Extension. Handzy Shop is hosting Fall Cov Craft at Mainstrasse Village, showcasing local vendors and artisans.

Additional Saturday events include a Seaglass & Sunbeams Workshop at Purple Paisley Artisan Shop, a one-year anniversary celebration for Revival Vintage Spirits & Bottle Shop with special food offerings, Sunset Rooftop DJ Sessions with Galaxie, live performances at Junipers and Strasse Haus, and an EDM event at Galaxie.

Sunday highlights include the Hope Loves Harmony Benefit at The Village Theater supporting families affected by addiction through live music and storytelling. West Sixth Covington Haus will hold Trivia Sunday in its taproom.
