The City of Florence is offering the Safe Sitter Essentials Course for students in grades 6 through 8. The sessions are scheduled for August 7 and October 13, 2025. This program aims to teach young teens skills necessary for babysitting, helping them handle real-life situations responsibly.

Each session will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kalb Gathering House on Nature Park Drive in Florence. The course costs $40 per participant and includes a kit with resources.

The course covers safety, injury prevention, child development, behavior management, business skills for babysitting, and first aid basics. However, CPR training is not part of the curriculum.

Parents are advised to register early due to limited space by contacting Gianna Pretelini via email or phone.
