The City of Florence has declared a Level Two Snow Emergency as of December 13, 2025. According to the announcement, “A Level Two Snow Emergency means roadways are extremely hazardous due to accumulated or blowing snow and icy conditions. Only essential travel is advised, including travel required by your employer, medical needs, emergency purposes, or obtaining necessities such as food, medicine, or fuel.”
Residents are reminded that when snowfall reaches two inches or more, parking is not allowed on all public street right-of-ways. The city warns that vehicles parked on the street may be ticketed or towed so Public Services crews can clear roadways efficiently and safely.
“This snow emergency will remain in effect until rescinded by the Mayor,” the statement said.
Florence provides a range of public services for its community and maintains infrastructure improvements throughout the city according to its official website. As one of Kentucky’s larger cities with a population reaching around 33,000 in the early 21st century according to city records, Florence supports residents and businesses during weather events like this snow emergency as part of its municipal responsibilities.
The City urges people to use caution and avoid unnecessary travel while encouraging cooperation in keeping streets clear for service crews. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
Florence’s government structure includes an elected City Council responsible for policy-making and oversight as outlined by the city. The city’s location in Boone County gives it access to major highways and proximity to Cincinnati which helps coordinate responses during emergencies.
