The City of Florence has announced its annual Christmas tree recycling program, offering residents two options for disposing of natural trees after the holiday season. The initiative requires that all decorations, including tinsel, ornaments, ribbons, lights, and bags, be removed before disposal. Trees will be properly disposed of by Kentucky Fish & Wildlife.

Curbside collection is scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2026. Residents are asked to place their trees on the curb the night before so that Florence Public Services can collect them. Trees not placed at the curb will not be picked up.

A drop-off option is also available from December 26, 2025 through January 15, 2026 at Stringtown Park located at 7340 Burlington Pike. Trees must be dropped off no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 15.

For additional information about the program or questions regarding public services in Florence—a city known for providing a range of community amenities and supporting local residents and businesses (https://florence-ky.gov/about/)—the Public Services Department can be reached at 859-647-5416.

Residents should note that if snow crews need to implement snow routes for road treatment on the scheduled day of tree pick-up, collection will be rescheduled to the following day after roads have been cleared.
