Gary Michael Elmore, born on December 31, 1955, in Covington, Kentucky, and departed on December 16, 2025, in Florence, Kentucky, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend cherished by many.
Graduating proudly from Boone County High School in 1973 and serving in the Army from 1973 to 1977 during the Vietnam War, Gary stood as a beacon of commitment and service. Active in the community as a Mason at Burlington Lodge 264, he held diverse roles, enriching the lives of those around him.
Gary’s love for the outdoors was a cornerstone of his life, as he found solace in fishing, camping, and Harley Davidson motorcycle rides. His unwavering love for travel, particularly to Maui with his wife Shonda, reflected his adventurous spirit and quest for connection.
At the heart of his world was his family, including his wife of 51 years, Shonda, sons Bradley Michael and Justin Matthew, and grandchildren Cody Michael, Layna Paige, and Lydia Ann. His family was his pride and joy, treasured in every laugh, embrace, and moment shared together.
Gary’s legacy will live on through his family members, including his brothers Robert Thomas and Edgar Roy, sister-in-laws, and brother-in-laws. He is remembered for his kindness, generosity, and profound love, leaving an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation and funeral service to honor Gary’s life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, on December 23, 2025.
